W4W5 Walk Information

Walk4Water5 is a stroller-friendly walk through downtown Lake Oswego, Oregon.

To simulate the experience of villagers in Zambia, we will walk to the water source, fill our buckets with water, and return to the starting point.

Stay after the Walk to enjoy refreshments and the Lewis & Clark Marimba Ensemble. Visitors from World Vision Zambia will join us and water information exhibits will be on display.

We encourage all walkers to gather walk pledges.

100% of your registration and sponsor donations will be applied to World Vision's Water, Sanitation, & Hygiene projects in Zambia (ZWASH).

Walk4Water5 t-shirts will be available at the Walk for $10. Please purchase one on Walk day and wear it as you participate. 100% of t-shirt sales support clean water and sanitation in Zambia.

Water Is Life | Sanitation Is Dignity

Every day since 1966, Sophie trekked to the only water point near her home: A gaping hole in the ground with muddy water resembling the color of tea with milk.

"This is the only water point I have known since I got married and came to live in this village.

This water point is too deep for the animals, so we are at least spared from the animals drinking from this water point and leaving it contaminated with cow dung."

After 45 years, Sophie’s difficult and dangerous routine changed forever:
In November 2011, World Vision drilled a deep freshwater well in Sophie’s village as Sophie and her village neighbors watched with anticipation and great joy.
May God richly bless the donors and World Vision for changing my life and the lives of my children and grandchildren.
Sophie - Zambia, November 2011
