2026 Walk4Water – May 30th
Register Now – Walk4Water May 30, 2026
It’s a birthday party!
Celebrating…
WaterAfrica’s 20th birthday
at the
It’s a fun, free event where we will simulate
what Zambian girls and women
do every day, 365 days a year.
These Zambians walk long distances
to get water,
water’s that contaminated,
but it’s the only water available!
We will pretend to be those Zambian women and girls,
Carry our buckets to the nearest water sources
(the River or the Lake)
And carry that water back,
Just like they do in Zambia!
Before the Walk,
We’ll get strength from the free food,
get inspired by the music, and
get motivated by SHORT speeches and stories.
Date and time: Saturday, May 30.
Gather at 9:30 for food and music.
The Walk begins at 10:00.
Location: Foothills Park, Lake Oswego
Two Walk routes:
The Traditional Lake Walk
and the shorter, flatter River Walk.
Bring your own bucket or anything you can use to carry water.
Why are we doing this?
To raise awareness that over 2 billion people
do not have access to clean water.
And, frankly, we’re crossing our fingers that
you might want to join us
in providing sources of
ample, clean, and safe water
close to the Zambian villagers’ homes
so they don’t have to walk hours every day for bad water.
