Nearly 400 individuals participated by walking the course, volunteering at the event, or playing the marimbas. The 3rd Annual Walk for Water was a huge success, exceeding all expectations. We raised close to $35,000. All proceeds will be given to World Vision to change the lives of 1,000 adults and children in Zambia, Africa, who will access clean water from nearly 3 new borehole wells, develop sanitation facilities and learn the importance of proper hygiene.

The Walk for Water was the most inspiring thing I have done in a long time. I was actually a little sad on Sunday morning since I wanted to repeat my Saturday! It is so important to get the word out and make a difference. Walking for water five times a day is unbelievable. The statistics shared with the audience were shocking. It shouldn’t have to be that way. Your speakers were great. The event was run to perfection. The tee shirts were awesome. Thanks for waking up the world and making a difference!!

Tina Beltrone, Lake Oswego resident

Thank you to the City of Lake Oswego for proclaiming April 17, 2010, WaterAfrica Day. We are grateful to our many volunteers including students from Lake Oswego High School, Lakeridge High School, Westside Christian High School, Lake Oswego Junior High School, and Lewis & Clark College. The generosity of our corporate sponsors and in-kind donors allowed 100% of the registrations/donations/t-shirt sales to be directed to Zambians.
