Stock Donations

Stocks With Capital Gains If you donate the stock directly to WaterAfrica, you can avoid the capital gain taxes and provide a larger life-giving gift. Please see the following instructions.

Stocks With Capital Losses In most cases, you would save taxes by selling the stock yourself and deducting the loss from your taxable income. You could then Donate the proceeds from the sale.

To transfer stock or bonds to WaterAfrica, simply send a letter to your broker instructing him or her to transfer xxx shares of ABC stock to the following account:
