Why World Vision?

WaterAfrica partners with World Vision because we are impressed with their development model. Providing water and sanitation is critical for life and health, but World Vision uses a broader, five point approach to community development that includes Water and Sanitation, Food Security, Education, Health Care, and Income Development. The water and sanitation WaterAfrica helps provide through World Vision is the starting point, and provides communities the foundation necessary to build toward sustainable development.

World Vision employs a local staff to work alongside a village community for fifteen years. This time commitment allows the staff to facilitate programs which enable the community to move out of extreme poverty toward sustainable independence. Members of WaterAfrica have seen this remarkable local World Vision staff in action. They begin their work by listening to the needs and desires of the villagers.
World Vision can then establish village committees to oversee installation and maintenance of boreholes, latrines, and gardens. They can train villagers to provide leadership and education for their community in areas of sanitation, hygiene, healthcare and business.

Currently our financial investment is multiplied by a major donor through World Vision’s ZWASH (Zambia Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) program.

We are pleased to partner with World Vision as we invest our resources for water and sanitation within this effective, approach.

Finally, we appreciate World Vision’s commitment to serve alongside the poor and oppressed as a demonstration of God’s unconditional love for all people.
